Eben’s Early Life and Background

Emmanuel Benjamin, who goes by the professional name Eben, was born on September 9, 1979. He is a renowned gospel singer, vocalist, and songwriter from Nigeria. Eben hails from Lagos, Nigeria, where he was both born and brought up. He’s the fifth child among six siblings and comes from a Christian background. He completed his primary education at Orile Primary School and continued to pursue his studies at Community Grammar School in Orile, Lagos.

Eben’s Musical Career

In 1997, Eben initiated his musical journey, initially guided by his elder brother as a rapper. However, he soon unearthed his singing talent and transitioned into a gospel artist. It wasn’t until 2005, in the role of a gospel singer, that Eben gained widespread recognition after making a significant debut at a youth conference organized by Pastor Chris, where his song “Imarama” was first introduced to the public.

In 2006, Eben became a member of Christ Embassy, a ministry founded by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome. The following year, in 2007, Eben unveiled his inaugural album titled “On the Rock,” featuring tracks like “Imaranma,” “God Dey,” “Iwo Nikan,” “I Don Hammer,” and more.

Subsequently, in 2010, he followed up with another album named “Phenomenon,” which included songs such as “Supper Man,” “Imele Papa,” “Siya Nma,” and several other captivating tracks. In 2013, Eben released yet another album, “Justified,” featuring compelling tunes like “You Alone Are Worthy,” “Onye Nwem,” “How I Love You,” “For Ever,” and “All The Way.”

Eben also established his record label, Hammer House of Rock, with a business division known as Hammer House Ventures, specializing in video and music production, event management, and interior decoration.

Furthermore, he released an additional album titled “Magnified,” featuring worship songs like “Stayed On You,” “Everything,” “Idi Nma,” “Lifted Hands,” and more. Eben’s popularity soared when he launched the viral hit, “Victory.”

On September 15, 2019, Eben played host to a live concert titled “Joyful Noise 2019,” a spectacular event that showcased leading gospel musicians, along with the participation of renowned American artists, Bob Fitts and Phil Thompson.

 Personal Life/ Family

On November 30, 2013, Eben entered into wedlock with Jahdiel (Grace Okoduwa), a fellow gospel singer. Their union has since been blessed with two children. In December 2013, the couple celebrated their love with a beautiful white wedding, officiated by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome of Christ Embassy.
